about…

When Melissa first started practicing yoga, she never imagined finding herself lost in the lifestyle. It became her release, a way to completely let go of her over-stimulated mind.

After completing her degree in psychology, she moved to Hawaii to volunteer in a drug rehabilitation center helping the homeless population. Shortly after, she began working as the lead substance abuse counselor. Realizing her purpose, she started her work at the local psychiatric hospital and correctional facility with individuals struggling with addiction and mental health. She then noticed most of the counseling suggested was geared towards lessons and experiences learned through the practice of yoga and meditation.

Inspired by her clients, she completed her first yoga teacher certificate in Thailand with the desire to incorporate holistic modalities through her teachings. She continued to deepen her understanding of anatomy, substance abuse, mental health and is a certified nutrition counselor.

She has experience teaching private yoga for professional athletes such as NFL players, NBA players, Muay Thai fighters, boxers and tennis players competing in the US Open.

She runs corporate private yoga sessions within Manhattan for companies such as Shutterstock, Match Group, several hedge funds, finance groups and private corporate groups throughout Tribeca, Wall Street and Park Ave.

Today, Melissa offers private yoga sessions to individuals worldwide looking to deepen their mind and body connection, high performing athletes, yoga for addiction and mental health.
